                                                 Kinda Cussin Response 

            In class we read the article called, Kinda Cussin by Marlon Manuel. This article started saying that any kid cusses at any age now a day. It’s not good but either way they will still do it. Most kids watch MTV and get some of the bad words from there. But either way they learn them on television or at home with friends and family and or school as well. Everyone first learns them by how they are raised either by their family cussing all the time or just listening to other people saying them around them and it could be not so good for them to be saying it to someone else they don’t know and for no reason if some they don’t know what they mean.

            I think that the popular borderline expletives or light cussing is bad but not as bad because they are not bad words its just words being used in a slang word so they won’t use the real bad word. But when they do use the bad word then that is dangerous because I have noticed that there are a lot of people that cuss in front of their kids but they don’t want that because they don’t want them to start cussing at a young age. I cuss in front of my parents but they don’t like me or my siblings cussing either or in front of our little cousins. But till this day I try and I stopped cussing in front of family.

            I think that it does affect the borderline because it has good ways and bad ways. The good ways are that it helps our culture by having to teach respect for the teenagers who just say the bad words in front of who ever they are with. Some kids just don’t have respect and they just say whatever comes out of their mouths which is bad. Another bad reason why it is bad is because some kids cuss at school and teachers don’t like it because then other kids that don’t really hear those words learn them and then their parents get mad at them and go complain to the school.

            From my experience is when I was working at an elementary school and some of the little kids would cuss and say the words that are used in the article and every time I would hear them I would tell them something and not to say those words. I cuss when I’m with friends and at work sometimes but also when I’m at home. My parents raised us right though and that was not to cuss or say anything bad. Now that we are older we do cuss but we try not to do it around them or my little cousins. I have learned and tried not to cuss in front of the young kids I work with here at Ventura College and I have done a good job because I haven’t cussed.

            In conclusion to the article I think that no kid at any age should cuss.
